The Seven Chakra Colors

The term “chakra” originates from Sanskrit. It means wheel, disc or circle. In the physiological-therapeutic context, this refers to energy centers that are arranged along the spine – like nodes on a vibrating string.

Allocation of Color and Function

Chakras

There are seven main chakras, shown here in their physical order from top to bottom.

You can see in this illustration that each main chakra is represented by a color. In addition, each chakra is dedicated to certain functions – emotional, mental or physical. These functions are described as “qualities” of each chakra.
